This is so true. The younger generation could benefit from sitting with older people and learning from them. When families lived intergenerationally this was the way it was. The younger generation was learning from their parents and grandparents. Silos have destroyed our communities. Silos destroy the workplace as well. In my opinion, we need open communication at home and work and collaboration rather than competition.
Rachel, I completely agree with you. There needs to be some re-membering of the nature of learning and the weaving of wisdom with innovation. I have recently heard the phrase: What is this generation contributing to the uplift of humanity? What is the gift? That has been my contemplation. (The phrase was offered as a look back at how we accredit different cultures with different advancements and what is ours? Yet all the antiquities had a grounding of Elder that I feel we are missing across too many verticals of our society). Thanks for your insight + welcome to The Golden Thread. We APPRECIATE having you here. xo
