“The funny thing is,” the writer said into the Zoom square, “I'm actually returning to what my exact intention was when we started.”
I talk more about this exact moment in the latest solo-episode of Rebirth. This contemplation of intention and journey to completion, extends past writing and into how we create our days, how we intend our time.
The current thickness of pervasive thought tells us we have to respond and do the best with what we have around us. Full Stop. It’s more yes and…the reality is that we are living in a symbiotic relationship with our environment, our life, and our selves.
What do I mean? I mean that we can cultivate and prioritize our own intentions and pull towards creativity without bowing to what we perceive others expect or need superseding the voice whispering inside. Critic does not always get to overpower creative.
Here is the kicker: When we are in true alignment with our own purpose and creativity — we overflow in fulfilling our own needs and those around us in ways we cannot imagine from our current state of doubt.
This doubt is part of our creative process. It’s embedded, as I mention in the podcast, in the seed cracking its shell and pushing through the weight of the dirt towards the sun to grow. It’s an overused metaphor for a reason: it is happening all around us and within us everyday. It is there for us to grow past. It’s a marker on the path.
It’s also why seeds need fertile soil. It’s why creatives need sanctified space; why mothers and sages need the quiet of dawn; why visionaries need fortitude, and why we all need to breathe more and believe more in ourselves and why we are here. Because the truth is, somewhere inside—we already know.
Thanks for being here,
Kate
