Ok, I'm rewatching The Matrix
Trinity: “What is he doing Morpheus?”
Morpheus: “He is starting to believe.”
If you havenʻt seen the movie The Matrix recently, Iʻd recommend it. I am having a fascinating time watching it, on my computer, lights on, kinda like I watched film in that one cinema class I took in college. I would have never watched Jaws otherwise. I probably would have never learned about camera angles, the difficulty of a long shot, and how to effectively manipulate expression and emotion through documentation.
Goethe made me cry today, but I think Iʻll need a minute to digest that. Until then, here is an alternate share by Goethe. I’ll share the original poem next week with you.
My lomilomi Kumu used to talk about belief as the most important trait to any and every endeavor. I remember telling him once that I knew that was what he was teaching me: to believe. I think that was the part of me that believed I would keep trudging on the Path to someday embody the words I preemptively spoke to him. One step at a time is better than running in the opposite direction.
Iʻll see you back here Monday.
Until then, what are you willing to start to believe in? Yourself?
