Intentions & Perspective
Season 7 of the Rebirth podcast is out [insert fanfare]. I am excited about this season because we are focusing on Educating & Elevating —which is the basis of everything that I do. I am looking at ways for us to gather together this year as part of my own intentionality and separating things out for practical success rather than a flurry of wishes that never take form.
In this episode, I talk about leveraging intentions so they take form. At the end of the year, I shared that I was doing a lot of reflection and journaling to make a successful track for the upcoming year. The planning of that probability has taken two tracks: an anchored meditation practice and a practical plan for each day.
I’ve noticed two recurring themes recently arising :
I have so many ideas I don’t want to pick just one (which I address in the podcast) and the “I’ll just get it done” mentality, neither of which will lead flourishing and miraculous success.
The first one is blatant sabotage and something I talk creatives and entrepreneurs through. You cannot write more than one book at a time. You can collect ideas for ensuing books. You can be working on multiple projects, but you cannot actually write more than one book while you are typing. Right? Right. When we choose & focus to leverage our time and energy, we receive the confidence of completion.
The other aspect which I addressed in a few podcast interviews, interestingly has arisen in a few conversations recently; it is rushing the thing. Getting it done, smushing it in, playing small, so that when we “do it” we can tell ourselves we didn’t really do it because is we had, our results would have been so much better. I remember when I realized this about writing Rebirth and I then saw how it rippled out in so many areas of my life, which is why this year I am focusing on claiming Space and providing Earth to that which I am creating. Normally, I just run high on Fire, and that is not serving, so I am rearranging how I do, what I think, and how I plan to make this year one of formidable change.
I’ll leave you with a concept I am still chewing on after hearing
mention it in a recent talk. When we are creating we are needing to attend to two spaces: Presence and Preference, and the space between them is Difference.Let me give you an example, you feel the impetus to create and then you spiral into into a thousand ideas [preferences]…if you stay there, without sitting down into your presence, you cannot bring the Ideas to Form. In Sit & Write, we spend a good deal of time getting writers aligned with their true intentions so that when the inevitable distractions come — they can anchor back with presence to their book’s intention (you can swap that out for any personal intention) so that they can choose (write) right action to bring their book to form (the page).
It’s the same formula for everything. Tune in to where you want to go, plot the course, stay aligned but about all else enjoy and learn from the journey because that is where the infinite possibilities live.
Enjoy your Wednesday see you back here soon,
Kate
