Inside of this battered ball jar is fresh, organic turmeric and garlic, candied in local honey. Candied means I stir them all together and let them sit and when the winter months get crazy I eat the “smelly stuff” as my son termed it. It works.
In this picture the outer rim is gone. This morning, I was wrestling with it. It was screwed on slightly askew, and I was having the darnedest time with it: hitting it with a spoon, using a towel for traction, and I wondered why this was so hard?
Do you ever accidentally hear yourself in a whole other way?
I put the jar down, and on a hunch, changed my approach. I focused on the slanted outer rim only. It came right off, leaving the ball jar top. That ever so easily pop off.
Huh, I thought, staring at the medicinal honey.
I was so focused; I was making the whole thing harder on myself.
Wait, I was so focused on the wrong approach. That ever happen to you?
The Sunday Stacks have kept you in the front of my mind, as we wind around what could be a year of chaos or leverage, depending on how we approach it.
I believe in the power of gathering; I have mentioned to you before, right? Matthew 18:20: “Where two or more are gathered, there I shall be.” Something happens when two or more like-hearted people seek a single answer — a third option appears. I have seen it happen in my client work, in my writing work, and even in my parenting. I have seen it so much, it’s the process that I am focusing on this year.
Which is why I am doing a 30 minute live co-work for our subscriber family
📆Focus to Flourish February 26th 12- 12:30 EST
Why?
Have you ever brought your to-do list to a co-work space where you set your intention and worked on it without wandering away to get a drink, empty the dishwasher, or scroll? Sh*t gets done quickly.
It’s a thank you for this growing community.
It’s a way to make our Sunday Stack’s more tangible in our lives.
What?
We will do a quick check-in to set an intention for the work session.
We will mute ourselves and create. That can mean write, delete your e-mail sent folder (which is a real thing we all need to be doing), get your to-do list together, sketch out a blog post — whatever you need.
We will also select a focus for the following month. This has been such a valuable practice for me. I have a focus for the year, and a focus for the month that I break down into weekly goals professionally, personally and spiritually. It has been really helpful.
This one is for EVERYONE, free & paid subscribers 💚.
That’s it. No pitch. No hitch.
It helps me practice what I write and look for ways to harness the power of community for the good. I think if we focus on flourishing clarity and confidence will follow.
Hope to see you there.
📍I will post the zoom link on 2/26, but I wanted you to mark your calendars.
Remember, the better it gets, the better it gets.
Kate
