"Do what scares you."
- Life
I don't know why I am so nervous sending you this email. Honestly, I have had book in my hand for my whole life. But this is different.
If you have been on this newsletter for awhile, you have heard me talk about writing and teaching writing for years. And for years I pushed it a little bit away, maybe like you have pushed something away that keeps coming back.
I love writing and I love a good story, and a well placed semicolon and I adore watching people get their good out into the world. But, if I was going to really help people get a book out in a new way, I'd have to first do it myself.
Well, that happened. Or is happening in September. But, it's the next part that really has me quaking a bit at what is truly coming together and calling in those that are ready to wisdom share.
See, I know the way of the word. I know how to bend them and create silence, create movement, create inspiration.
I don't know publishing, and queries and I like to use fragments for emphasis. It's another way to say: I like to bend the rules and run on inspiration, but am not always so great at the necessary detail, the framing of the Market and the reality of what gets a book found in the larger world.
Well, much like Odysseus..for real, I had to leave my home of writing comfort to take my own journey and come back with the shards and scrapes to feel vetted for this.
So when I had this first draft in my hand, and I was knock-kneed by the process and wondering how the book was even going to get finished, a serendipitous conversation came between myself and Claudine Wolk. I remember her gentle but matter-of-fact declarations that I can be in my process, but if I didn't snap to on the realities of timelines and what it actually takes to get a book on the shelves, I would be in for a few surprises.
In the moment, it felt true and it felt like a lot. But, it was. true and it was loving, and for me it was Divine Intervention. She held the answers to questions I didn't even know how to ask.
For whatever reason, in each moment I needed it, the needed clarity came through to help get Rebirth into the world.
I said, "Hey Claudine, do you want to come together to help get people's books out?"
She said, "Absolutely!"
Here we are, and the doors to Sit & Write are open.
I know a copy newsletter announcing a class is supposed to run differently, but I wanted you to know how this came to be. I wanted you to know because if this is for you, you'll hear it. This newsletter is going to find you on the right day and you might push it away—but, don't.
It is a double-doorway for the expert and the creative.
It is for the person who knows they have wisdom to share and needs the attendance on how to reach an audience. It is for the creative who hears the whispers increasing that what they hold tender needs to be shared with the world, and they need the accountability to get it done.
People ask: How do you write a book to change the world?
The answer: Write yours. The world will be changed.
I walk a path that is attentive to Spirit, and I was given some gifts with writing. I'm ready to help others get their message out in alignment with their mission.
If you are interested in learning more, send me an email.
And I will share all the details, like how you will save $300 if you sign up before September 15th, and yes we have payment plans.
We start October 1st through January. We are accepting free connection calls to chat about you and Sit & Write and all the wonderful things we can do together.
Before we go public with this, I am bringing it to you—or someone you know that is ready for this moment.
The world needs us to write a new story.
It's time to share our gifts, to create the beauty we have been holding and let it make space for more in the world.
With love,
Kate
P.s.
Next week on Rebirth we are with Crista Cloutier. Another serendipitous connection that has turned into something fabulous.
