Someone recently asked me about re-patterning and how do we successfully accomplish this? Well, it’s tricky.
The first thing we need is the desire to re-pattern. How may times have we witnessed something in someone else’s life so clearly yet they were unable to see it? I don’t have access to the design manual but this aspect of being human is undeniable and can be a little frustrating if you ask me. (I am chuckling as I type). Or we really want to change a pattern, then the moment comes to change the pattern (also known as a trigger, upset, bad news, unfortunate circumstance, et cetra) and in the moment we repeat the pattern. Here we must watch that we don’t layer guilt and shame upon the moment, digging ourselves deeper into the trench that we have just resolved to climb out of.
The second thing you would need is the space to make the change. So if you move too fast, you need to change your calendar for the slowed down pace. That prevents you from using lines like: “I would slow down but I can’t.” (My post Patience talks a bit about this). You will also need contemplative space to reflect on what you are doing and what actually is asking for change. Time to journal or scribble. Time to make space to make new choices. Like if it is a food change, you’ll need the time to make a new list and find new recipes and new grocery stores perhaps. New patterns need new inputs, new margins for error and time to experiment. New pathways need clearance to take form and root. A meditation practice is really, really helpful with and for that.
Here is a quick one you can utilize to make some space; it’s titled: Release to Invite Peace.
Your practice of honoring yourself through sacred expression is exactly what the world needs. - Pixie Lighthorse
Tell me below if you notice a difference within after the meditation (or another self-selected practice), and we’ll continue this conversation next week while you allow invitations for spaciousness and contemplation to come into your consciousness.
