“Holy persons draw to themselves all that is earthly.” - Hildegard of Bingen
Have you ever journaled with a tree or a flower? How about meditated with a stone? When I was in my first of two years of learning herbalism our teacher had us go out into the herbal yard, pick a plant and sit and listen to it. Learn from it. She said, “Sit patiently and then if it feels right ask the plant to share with you or let the plant communicate and trust what comes.”
Then we would go inside and share what our experiences were. It was remarkable to learn what seemed like a non-sensical detail or image would relate to the plant’s medicine. It was fascinating to watch my Self and classmates be drawn to different plants, to learn that there is so much that is awaiting our attention should we make ourselves available.
Try this:
Let yourself be drawn to a tree or flower.
Drop into your center + clear your mind in the proximity of your new friend (Need help with that? Here is a meditation for you)
Now, you can sit and be guided by your own inspiration. If you need help you can ask: What medicine do you offer? What would you like to share with me? How can I help?
Trust what comes. Sit with your experience. Then close out the moment + journal. It may provide another layer of integration + revelation.
I offer the same invitation to you. Take a leap and see what comes back. Or if you pass a tree on your way home each day, start saying hello. Be open and let what comes come + give it time. Open up to The Golden Thread that connects all of Life.
Thanks for being here + let us know how it goes.

Solstice is on December 21st, so this Monday I’ll share a contemplation + a reindeer story that I love.
